Job Description
Job Title: Machine Operators
Department: Production/Processing
Summary:
Operates and maintains processing machines and equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform daily pre-operation checks and set up machinery and materials for processing
- Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines to follow processing instructions/PI.
- Ensure the correct product is fed to semi-automated machines and processed to instructions to avoid unnecessary mixing and contamination.
- Supervise product/raw materials movement activities to and from machines during processing and ensure the movements are in accordance with the PI.
- Ensure product accuracy in relation to weight, batch number, grade, etc. for products fed into machines and processed products from machines
- Maintain processing/activity logs during shift.
- Service and maintain the processing plant as scheduled by the engineer.
- Effectively monitor production equipment and test the operation of machines periodically.
- Follow established plant operating procedures and safety rules and regulations in the workplace.
- Perform any other task as assigned by warehouse management from time to time

Job Qualifications
Requirements:
- Experience in servicing/repairing/maintenance of different types of elevators and conveyors for grain handling applications.
- Experience in installation, servicing, and maintenance of induction motors, dust extraction systems, and ventilation systems
- Experience in operating factory utilities such as compressed air equipment, standby generators, and power equipment, including power distribution boards.
- Experience in repairing and servicing bag stitching machines.
- Experience working in a busy processing/production/manufacturing set-up
- Experience in operating food processing machines
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Knowledge/training in OSH, fire safety, first aid, and food safety/Good manufacturing practices.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in production/electrical/mechanical engineering/technology (a must).
- Minimum two years’ experience in a busy food processing plant (a must). Experience in coffee processing will be an added advantage.
- Ability to listen actively and take instructions.
- Very high work ethics and ability to work long hours when needed.
