2. Context and Objectives of the Role
Within the Rolling Unit, the Maintenance Manager plays a key role in equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and overall production performance. They directly contribute to the availability of facilities, team safety, and the continuous improvement of maintenance practices.

3. Main Role
Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of rolling equipment by organizing, supervising, and optimizing all maintenance activities (preventive, corrective, and improvement), in compliance with Quality, HSE, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

4. Key Responsibilities

4.1 Maintenance Management

  • Define and implement the unit’s maintenance strategy.

  • Plan and supervise preventive, corrective, and improvement interventions.

  • Diagnose breakdowns, analyze malfunctions, and propose sustainable solutions.

  • Monitor performance indicators (equipment availability rate, adherence to deadlines/action plans, reduction of unplanned downtime, compliance with raw material scheduling).

  • Optimize the use of spare parts and consumables.

  • Manage new works and outsourced interventions.

  • Deploy and optimize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking interventions, history, and indicators (Coswin).

4.2 Team Management and Development

  • Supervise, organize, and support the maintenance teams (mechanical, electrical, mechanical workshop).

  • Approve weekly schedules based on available skills.

  • Conduct annual reviews and propose merit-based promotions.

  • Develop skills through internal and external training plans.

  • Raise awareness of Quality, HSE requirements, and operational best practices.

4.3 Continuous Improvement and Performance

  • Lead continuous improvement actions (according to the PDCA cycle or equivalent).

  • Analyze causes of missed objectives and implement corrective actions.

  • Contribute to internal audits and address identified gaps.

  • Strengthen the reliability of critical equipment and structure maintenance practices.

4.4 Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety instructions and PPE use.

  • Analyze workplace accidents and implement corrective and preventive measures.

  • Ensure compliance of installations and interventions.

Job Qualifications

5. Desired Profile

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree (Bac +5) in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, electromechanics, or equivalent.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in heavy industry maintenance, ideally in a steel mill.

  • Experience in a continuous 24/7 environment is appreciated.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of heavy mechanics, hydraulics, industrial electricity, and automation.

  • Mastery of CMMS (COSWIN appreciated).

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, and catalogs (FR/EN).

  • Troubleshooting and solving complex problems.

  • Management of new works and contractors.

  • Knowledge of QMS and HSE requirements.

  • Proficient in Excel and office tools.
