Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the settlement of physical precious metals, cash and metal transactions, including global shipping, delivery and margined client activities.
  • Support and administer structured financing transactions, including allocated financing, earmarked financing and pledge business, ensuring accurate execution and control.
  • Perform daily back-office reconciliations, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and maintain the integrity of depository and intra-system records.
  • Monitor depository limits, margin availability and risk exposures, escalating issues appropriately to ensure a robust control environment.
  • Deliver a high standard of client service by accurately interpreting requests, resolving trade and client queries, and proactively addressing operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, payment controls and risk management frameworks, while maintaining up-to-date documentation and completing control checklists.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting system testing, process enhancements, problem-solving and personal development to improve operational efficiency.

Job Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in physical commodity operations within a regulated financial services, banking or commodities environment.
  • An understanding of London Precious Metals Clearing Limited (LPMCL) clearing processes and physical precious metals operations.
  • Strong understanding of precious metals markets, including LBMA standards, international markets and emerging market dynamics.
  • Sound knowledge of banking operations, financial products and the wider precious metals trading lifecycle.
  • Good understanding of FCA regulations (or equivalent regulatory frameworks), alongside risk management and control principles.
  • Experience of working within physical precious metals operations, with vaulting experience considered advantageous.
  • Proficient IT skills, with the ability to utilise operational systems, analyse data and support process improvements effectively.
