Job Description

Summary:
This role requires a deep understanding of global coffee markets, price risk management, and supply chain dynamics, as well as strong analytical and negotiation skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell green coffee to roasters, importers, and industrial clients in various markets.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers and clients to expand the company’s global network.
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase coffee from producers, cooperatives, and exporters.
  • Analyse global coffee market trends, prices, supply and demand, and logistics factors to identify trading opportunities.
  • Manage and optimise trading positions, ensuring profitability and compliance with internal risk limits.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to oversee shipment schedules, documentation, and quality control.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, and financial partners.
  • Monitor currency exchange and hedging requirements in coordination with the finance team.Prepare and maintain detailed records of contracts, pricing, and trade performance.
  • Attend international coffee fairs, cupping sessions, and origin visits to build market intelligence and partnerships.
  • Support sustainability and traceability initiatives within the supply chain. 

Job Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, or related field.Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commodities trading, preferably coffee.
  • Strong understanding of global coffee markets, quality grades, and trade flows.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and trading/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or similar tools for visualizing trade performance and market trends.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.Ability to travel internationally when needed.
