Jobs for Humanity aims to help people with all levels of visual impairment (low vision, legally blind, etc.) find fulfilling careers. San Francisco, California is our starting point for helping visually impaired individuals seeking employment, as California has the highest unemployment rate of people with visual disabilities (54.6%).

54.6% of the blind and low vision population in California are unemployed

General demographics:

Age 21 to 64

Although people of all gender identities can be low vision or blind, currently 55% of the US blind population are women.

Searching for employment as a blind or low vision person is a challenge. Not many job board/application platforms accommodate blind people, to say nothing of the employers themselves.
