Jobs for the Neurodivergent Stories

I didn't KNOW I was Autistic for the first 29 years of my life!

« The truth is, most workplaces aren't currently set up to support Autistic & Neurodivergent people»

My name is Lyric Holmans, and I’m an Autistic adult with a background in business operations, recruiting, hiring, & retention.

I’ve always been Autistic, but I didn’t know this fact for the first twenty-nine years of my life.

I was diagnosed late in life after suffering through what is sometimes referred to as an Autistic Burnout (or regression) – due to working in an office space that was not set up to accommodate neurodivergent people like me.

The truth is, most workplaces aren’t currently set up to support Autistic & Neurodivergent people, and we are often under or unemployed – with numbers ranging from 60-80% depending on the study you look at.

I’m determined to change that and have spent my recent years educating employers on creating more inclusive workspaces for people like me.

Because many of the common barriers to Autistic & Neurodivergent employees start in the hiring & recruiting process – projects like Jobs for Humanity give me hope.
