The State of Black and Hispanic Unemployment
The most unemployed Hispanic population are between 20-34 years which makes up 6.4% of the unemployed Hispanic population in Florida. Black unemployed people are also between 20-34, which make up 11.0% of the unemployment rate of the Black population in Florida.
Most Hispanic workers are in careers like
• Farming and fisheries
• Building and grounding cleaning and maintenance
• Construction and extraction
• Food preparation and serving
• Transportation and material moving
Some of the big companies that work in these fields include Leasa Industries, co., Inc, Mecca Farms Inc. Primate Products, LLC, Precision Grounds Maintenance, Millennium Services of Florida, Lennar, Ranger Construction Industries, MasTec, Florida Food Products, LLC, GFS Restaurant and Catering, Big Time Restaurant Group, Lake trucking company, Oakley Transport Inc, National Transport, LOL Transport & Moving Inc.
On the other hand, most of the black population are into jobs like
• Security guards and gaming surveillance officers
• Nursing, psychiatric and health aides
• Bus drivers
• Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses
• Taxi drivers and chauffeurs
• Refuse and recyclable material collectors
• Eligibility interviewers (government programs)
• Barbers
• Postal service mail sorters, processors, and processing machine operators
